The Committee shall provide leadership and broad-based direction for standardization in the field of development, adoption and revision of Agricultural Produce standards. The Committee shall ensure that such standards meet national regulatory requirements and are consistent with international requirements for the protection of health and safety of consumers.

The Committee shall fulfill its roles and responsibilities through a process of collaboration and consensus building with agricultural producers, agricultural processors, competent regulatory authorities and other interested parties.
