International Standard
This International Standard specifies methods for the chemical analysis of lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC) powders used as the raw material for cathode materials.
This document stipulates the determination methods of nickel, manganese, cobalt, aluminium, barium, calcium, copper, iron, lead, magnesium, molybdenum, phosphorus, sodium, strontium, titanium, zinc, zirconium, lithium hydroxide (LiOH) and lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) contents in NMC powders. NMC powders are decomposed by an acid decomposition method. The nickel, manganese, cobalt, aluminium, barium, calcium, copper, iron, lead, magnesium, molybdenum, phosphorus, sodium, strontium, titanium, zinc and zirconium contents in the test solution are determined by an inductively coupled plasma—optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Li2CO3 and LiOH are determined by using an acid-base titration.
