Scope

This document specifies an inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometric method for the determination of the mass fraction of aluminium and vanadium in 6Al-4V titanium alloys.

The method is applicable to 6Al-4V titanium alloys (applicable chemical composition range other than Al and V is as follows; C: less than or equal to 0,08%, O: less than or equal to 0,20%, N: less than or equal to 0,05%, H: less than or equal to 0,0150%, Fe: less than or equal to 0,40%, each other element: less than or equal to 0,1%, total other element: less than or equal to 0,4%) with mass fraction of aluminium in the range from 4,70% to 7,00% and vanadium in the range from 3,00% to 5,00%.
