Scope

ISO 8371:2015 specifies a method to provide a relative measure for evaluating the degree of size degradation caused by rapid heating of iron ores. It specifies the determination of the decrepitation index.
ISO 8371:2015 is applicable to lump ores for blast furnace feedstocks.
